Speaker: Rescue of Italian Jews During the Holocost
On Monday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m., Brookfield CRC will host author Elizabeth Bettina and Holocaust survivor Ursula Korn-Selig who will speak about Italy and the Jews during World War II. Bettina’s book, It Happened in Italy, tells the amazing story of how her discovery of a single faded photo taken in 1940 led her on a quest that uncovered the little-known story of how thousands of Jews were saved throughout the Italian countryside during World War II.
On the Edge Mission Trip
The first OTE (high school youth group) mission trip team meeting has been moved to Wednesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. instead of March 17. Deposits are still due on Wednesday, March 17. If possible, please bring your trip application with you to our March 10 meeting. contact Emily Hull for details. The mission trip will be July 10-17.
Calvin College Concert at Brookfield CRC
On Saturday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. the Calvin College Wind Ensemble will present a concert at Brookfield CRC as part of its Spring Tour 2010. Dr. Tiffany Engle will lead Calvin's 35-piece concert band in a program titled “Heroes, Legends, and Icons.” Admission is free; and an offering will be received for the scholarship fund of the Southeast Wisconsin chapter of the Calvin Alumni Association. Adult Education Hour
There are several educational opportunities for adults during the education hour following each morning service. In the sanctuary, you can join the Quest sermon discussion group at 11:10. In North Hall B, there is a class considering Justice and Service at 11:00. Or join in the study Discipleship: Follow Me at 10:50 in North Hall A, which explores what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
