BCRC Membership Classes
Please note that the date of our next Discovery Class is Sunday, June 1, from 1:00–4:30 p.m. This is your opportunity to explore our beliefs—and what it means to be a member at BCRC—more closely. Please contact the church office if you are interested in attending.
Annual Congregational Meeting
The annual Congregational Meeting has been set for Tuesday, May 20, at 7:00 p.m. At this meeting we will discuss and approve a new budget for the church, update the congregation on ministries and staffing, and also elect new elders and deacons. We need to elect two elders and three deacons this year. Those nominated for elder are: Mike Bolan, Bob DeBoer, Phil Wanezek, and Bob Wiers. Those nominated for the office of deacon are: John Duimstra, Dave Koning, Zach Te Winkel, Jamie Vander Berg, Dave Vander Male, and Mike Vander Vliet. We thank our retiring officebearers for their last three years of service: Elders Paul Boersma and Pat Vanderburgh; and Deacons Judy Blok, Ken Jeninga, and Jim Malaney. Position Open: Director of Youth Ministry
Brookfield Christian Reformed Church has an open position for a Director of Youth Ministry. This is a full-time position with a main focus on our One the Edge (OTE) high school ministry. Additional responsibilities include some involvement with our What's Up? middle school ministry, and our college-age ministry. Summer Music Camp for Kids
Brookfield CRC is offering another summer music camp for kids entering grades 1-7. King of the Jungle, by Celeste Clydesdale will be rehearsed August 4–8, and 11–15, with performances on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 & 17. Registration forms are on the display table next to North Hall A. Volunteers are needed, whether you are a seasoned music camp veteran or a first-timer! This is an excellent opportunity to make connections and establish relationships!
Connection Point Worship Services
Connection Point is a new church in its first steps seeking to communicate an “old message” in new ways. You are invited to their monthly worship service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 1. Milwaukee Rescue Mission Open House
On Saturday, May 17, from 10:00 a.m. –2:30 p.m., the Milwaukee Rescue Mission will be celebrating 115 years of ministry with a "Days of Hope" Open House. Come enjoy some food and fellowship. There will be interactive tours exploring their history as well.
Free Introductory Golf Clinic
Brookfield CRC is offering a free introductory golf clinic for kids entering 5th through 8th grade. From July 28-August 2, participants will learn and practice the basics of golf. The clinic includes daily instruction, practice, and various contests. The week will culminate with a golf tournament on Saturday, August 2. Please mark these dates on your calendar. Registration information will be available soon.
KidZone/elevate News
KidZone/elevate classes will be collecting new or gently used children's Bibles for the Joy House, now through Sunday, May 11. Children can bring the Bibles to class or put them on the designated tables.
The annual ice cream social will be held on Sunday, May 18 during the Church School hour. Thanks to all the teachers and volunteers who helped with this year’s Church School!
Adult Education on Sunday Mornings
The Black Bear Inn meets in North Hall B. Peter Synder leads a discussion of Kent Van Til's new book, Less Than Two Dollars a Day: a Christian View of World Poverty and the Free Market [ Preview the book ]. Alternatively, there is a Sermon Discussion Class led by Steve Kolter in North Hall A. If you are a first time visitor, new to the church, or simply someone looking for a relaxed and conversational atmosphere to discuss matters of faith, this is the place to be! Both classes start at 10:50 a.m. and are dismissed at 11:40 so parents have time to pick up children from Sunday School. Camp Calvin Dates
Camp Calvin, a summer camp for kids between grades 4-9, will be held June 16-21. Registrations are due Thursday, May 1. If you haven't sent in your registration yet, please do so as soon as possible!
